“No horse wakes up the in the morning and decides, ‘today is the day I’m going to be naughty’. Problem behaviour is their way of asking for help.”
OUR SERVICES
Vicki's unique form of therapy finds and treats the soreness that is often the cause of symptoms such as bucking, rearing, or being head-shy. She assesses each horse holistically, on an individual basis to identify the root cause of their behaviour or pain.

“Horses are inherently honest. They’re trying to tell you something, so it doesn’t make sense to punish them. We need to look instead for the underlying cause of the problem behaviour and fix it so they can be the best they can be."

HANDS-ON EQUINE THERAPY
Vicki's unique form of therapy finds and treats the soreness that is often the cause of symptoms such as bucking, rearing, or being head-shy. When horses are misbehaving they’re trying to tell you something. No horse wakes up and decides “today I’m going to be naughty”. Problem behaviour is their way of asking for help.

Equine therapy is a hands-on methodology used to enhance a horse’s wellbeing and performance. It works with the entire skeletal system or structure of the horse. This includes muscles, ligaments and the joint system. Therapy techniques are wide-ranging, and can include massage, adjustments, stretches and rehabilitation – combining chiropractic care, physiotherapy and osteopathic techniques.

Vicki's Sore Horse Workshops are run on location at appropriate venues. These workshops are made up of a combination of spectators and a limited amount of sore horse owners who bring their horses along. Whether you are an attendee or you bring your own horse, whether you’re a professional rider or a pleasure rider, you’ll get the same amount out of Vicki's workshops. As she works with each horse, she will talk through what she is doing, what she is looking for, what she is feeling and what she finds, demonstrating her techniques along the way.

Vicki usually discusses topics including, but not limited to, teeth management, foot balance, the importance of saddle fit, sheath cleaning and massage. Her goal is awareness - she aims to give you and your horse the necessary tools to identify when something is wrong, and enable you to massage, stretch or adjust your horse yourself, as well as determine when a professional is required.

Vicki believes that a happy horse is a horse that is mentally, physically and emotionally sound. Her equine therapy techniques and philosophy is holistic and all encompassing – it addresses every aspect of a horse’s wellbeing.
